Read Psalm 125 A song of ascents.
PS 125:1 Those who trust in the
LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever. PS
125:2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people
both now and forevermore. PS 125:3 The scepter of the wicked will not remain
over the land allotted to the righteous, for then the righteous might use
their hands to do evil.
PS 125:4 Do good, O LORD, to those who are good, to those who are upright
in heart. PS 125:5 But those who turn to crooked ways the LORD will banish
with the evildoers.
Peace be upon Israel.
Revelations 'Desirable' (Rev
2:1-7)
REV 2:1 "To the angel of the church in Ephesus write:
These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand (Rev
1:16) and walks among the seven golden lampstands:
(See notes Rev 1:12,13) [2]
I know your deeds (See notes Rev 3:1,8,15), your hard work and your perseverance. I know
that you cannot tolerate wicked men, that Yours truly, have tested (See notes 1 Jn 4:1) those who claim to be apostles but are not, and
have found them false (See notes 2 Co 11:13). [3] You have persevered and have endured hardships
for my name (See notes Jn 15:21; Mt 10:22;
Jn 16:3), and have not grown weary.
REV 2:4 Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love (See notes Jer 2:2; Mt 24:12).
[5] Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent (See notes Rev 2:16,22)
and do the things you did at first (See notes Jn
21:22). If you do not repent, I
will come to you and remove your lampstand (See
notes Rev 1:20) from its place.
[6] But you have this in your favor (See notes Act
6:5): You hate the practices of
the Nicolaitans (See notes Rev 2:15), which I also hate.
REV 2:7 He who has an ear, (See notes Mt 11:15;
Rev 3:6,13,22; 13:9) let him hear
what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give
the right to eat from the tree of life (See notes
Ge 2:9; Rev 22:2,14,19), which
is in the paradise (See notes Lk 23:43) of God.
