EX 4:19 Now the LORD had said to Moses in Midian,
"Go back to Egypt, for all the men who wanted to kill you are dead."

GODWAY:
[EX 2:11-2:17] One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own
people were and watched them at their hard labor. He saw an Egyptian beating a
Hebrew, one of his own people. Glancing this way and that and seeing no one, he
killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.
The next day he went out and
saw two Hebrews fighting. He asked the one in the wrong, "Why are you
hitting your fellow Hebrew?"
The man said, "Who made you ruler and judge over us? Are you thinking of
killing me as you killed the Egyptian?" Then Moses was afraid and thought,
"What I did must have become known."
When Pharaoh heard of this, he tried to kill Moses, but Moses fled from Pharaoh and went to live in Midian, where he sat down by a well. Now a priest of Midian had seven daughters, and they came to draw water and fill the troughs to water their father's flock. Some shepherds came along and drove them away, but Moses got up and came to their rescue and watered their flock.
[EX 2:18-22] When the girls
returned to Reuel their father, he asked them, "Why have you returned so
early today?"
They answered, "An Egyptian rescued us from the shepherds. He even drew
water for us and watered the flock."
"And where is he?" he asked his daughters. "Why did you leave
him? Invite him to have something to eat."
Moses agreed to stay with the man, who gave his daughter Zipporah to Moses in marriage. Zipporah gave birth to a son, and Moses named him Gershom, saying, "I have become an alien in a foreign land."
[EX 2:23-25] During that long period, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God. God heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob. So God looked on the Israelites and was concerned about them.
[EX 3:1- Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the desert and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. [2] There the angel of the LORD appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. [3] So Moses thought, "I will go over and see this strange sight--why the bush does not burn up."
EX 3:4 When the LORD saw
that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush,
"Moses! Moses!"
And Moses said, "Here I am."
EX 3:5 "Do not come any closer," God said. "Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground." [6] Then he said, "I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob." At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God.
EX 3:7 The LORD said, "I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. [8] So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey--the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. [9] And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. [10] So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt."
EX 3:11 But Moses said to God, "Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?"
EX 3:12 And God said, "I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain."
EX 3:13 Moses said to God, "Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, `The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they ask me, `What is his name?' Then what shall I tell them?"
EX 3:14 God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: `I AM has sent me to you.' "
EX 3:15 God also said to Moses, "Say to the Israelites, `The LORD, the God of your fathers--the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob--has sent me to you.' This is my name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from generation to generation.
EX 3:16 "Go, assemble the elders of Israel and say to them, `The LORD, the God of your fathers--the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob-- appeared to me and said: I have watched over you and have seen what has been done to you in Egypt. [17] And I have promised to bring you up out of your misery in Egypt into the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites--a land flowing with milk and honey.'
EX 3:18 "The elders of Israel will listen to you. Then you and the elders are to go to the king of Egypt and say to him, `The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Let us take a three-day journey into the desert to offer sacrifices to the LORD our God.' [19] But I know that the king of Egypt will not let you go unless a mighty hand compels him. [20] So I will stretch out my hand and strike the Egyptians with all the wonders that I will perform among them. After that, he will let you go.
EX 3:21 "And I will make the Egyptians favorably disposed toward this people, so that when you leave you will not go empty-handed. [22] Every woman is to ask her neighbor and any woman living in her house for articles of silver and gold and for clothing, which you will put on your sons and daughters. And so you will plunder the Egyptians."
EX 4:1 Moses answered, "What if they do not believe me or listen to me and say, `The LORD did not appear to you'?"
EX 4:2 Then the LORD said to
him, "What is that in your hand?"
"A staff," he replied.
EX 4:3 The LORD said,
"Throw it on the ground."
Moses threw it on the ground and it became a snake, and he ran from it. [4]
Then the LORD said to him, "Reach out your hand and take it by the
tail." So Moses reached out and took hold of the snake and it turned back
into a staff in his hand. [5] "This," said the LORD, "is so that
they may believe that the LORD, the God of their fathers--the God of Abraham,
the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob--has appeared to you."
EX 4:6 Then the LORD said, "Put your hand inside your cloak." So Moses put his hand into his cloak, and when he took it out, it was leprous, like snow.
EX 4:7 "Now put it back into your cloak," he said. So Moses put his hand back into his cloak, and when he took it out, it was restored, like the rest of his flesh.
EX 4:8 Then the LORD said, "If they do not believe you or pay attention to the first miraculous sign, they may believe the second. [9] But if they do not believe these two signs or listen to you, take some water from the Nile and pour it on the dry ground. The water you take from the river will become blood on the ground."
EX 4:10 Moses said to the LORD, "O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue."
EX 4:11 The LORD said to him, "Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the LORD? [12] Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say."
EX 4:13 But Moses said, "O Lord, please send someone else to do it."
EX 4:14 Then the LORD's anger burned against Moses and he said, "What about your brother, Aaron the Levite? I know he can speak well. He is already on his way to meet you, and his heart will be glad when he sees you. [15] You shall speak to him and put words in his mouth; I will help both of you speak and will teach you what to do. [16] He will speak to the people for you, and it will be as if he were your mouth and as if you were God to him. [17] But take this staff in your hand so you can perform miraculous signs with it."
EX 4:18 Then Moses went back
to Jethro his father-in-law and said to him, "Let me go back to my own
people in Egypt to see if any of them are still alive."
Jethro said, "Go, and I wish you well."
EX 4:19 Now the LORD had said to Moses in Midian, "Go back to Egypt, for all the men who wanted to kill you are dead." [20] So Moses took his wife and sons, put them on a donkey and started back to Egypt. And he took the staff of God in his hand.
EX 4:21 The LORD said to
Moses, "When you return to Egypt, see that you perform before Pharaoh all
the wonders I have given you the power to do. But I will harden his heart so
that he will not let the people go. [22] Then say to Pharaoh, `This is what the
LORD says: Israel is my firstborn son, [23] and I told you, "Let my son
go, so he may worship me." But you refused to let him go; so I will kill
your firstborn son.' "
[EX 17:15-18:6] Moses
built an altar and called it The LORD is my Banner. [16] He said, "For
hands were lifted up to the throne of the LORD. The LORD will be at war against
the Amalekites from generation to generation."
EX 18:1 Now Jethro, the priest of Midian and father-in-law of Moses, heard of everything God had done for Moses and for his people Israel, and how the LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt.
EX 18:2 After Moses had sent away his wife Zipporah, his father-in-law Jethro received her [3] and her two sons. One son was named Gershom, for Moses said, "I have become an alien in a foreign land"; [4] and the other was named Eliezer, for he said, "My father's God was my helper; he saved me from the sword of Pharaoh."
EX 18:5 Jethro, Moses'
father-in-law, together with Moses' sons and wife, came to him in the desert,
where he was camped near the mountain of God. [6] Jethro had sent word to him,
"I, your father-in-law Jethro, am coming to you with your wife and her two
sons."
[NU 12:1-15] Miriam and Aaron began to talk against Moses because of his
Cushite wife, for he had married a Cushite. [2] "Has the LORD spoken only
through Moses?" they asked. "Hasn't he also spoken through us?"
And the LORD heard this.
NU 12:3 (Now Moses was a very humble man, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth.)
NU 12:4 At once the LORD said to Moses, Aaron and Miriam, "Come out to the Tent of Meeting, all three of you." So the three of them came out. [5] Then the LORD came down in a pillar of cloud; he stood at the entrance to the Tent and summoned Aaron and Miriam. When both of them stepped forward,
[6] he said, "Listen to my words:
"When a prophet of the
LORD is among you,
I reveal myself to him in visions,
I speak to him in dreams.
NU 12:7 But this is not true
of my servant Moses;
he is faithful in all my house.
NU 12:8 With him I speak
face to face,
clearly and not in riddles;
he sees the form of the LORD.
Why then were you not afraid
to speak against my servant Moses?"
NU 12:9 The anger of the LORD burned against them, and he left them.
NU 12:10 When the cloud
lifted from above the Tent, there stood Miriam--leprous, like snow. Aaron
turned toward her and saw that she had leprosy; [11] and he said to Moses,
"Please, my lord, do not hold against us the sin we have so foolishly
committed. [12] Do not let her be like a stillborn infant coming from its
mother's womb with its flesh half eaten away."
NU 12:13 So Moses cried out to the LORD, "O God, please heal her!"
NU 12:14 The LORD replied to Moses, "If her father had spit in her face,
would she not have been in disgrace for seven days? Confine her outside the
camp for seven days; after that she can be brought back." [15] So Miriam
was confined outside the camp for seven days, and the people did not move on
till she was brought back.
[MT 19:3-12] Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?"
MT 19:4 "Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator `made them male and female,' [5] and said, `For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh' ? [6] So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate."
MT 19:7 "Why then," they asked, "did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?"
MT 19:8 Jesus replied, "Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. [9] I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery."
MT 19:10 The disciples said to him, "If this is the situation between a husband and wife, it is better not to marry."
MT 19:11 Jesus replied, "Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given. [12] For some are eunuchs because they were born that way; others were made that way by men; and others have renounced marriage because of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it."
[LK 20:27-33] Some of the
Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Jesus with a question.
"Teacher," they said, "Moses wrote for us that if a man's
brother dies and leaves a wife but no children, the man must marry the widow
and have children for his brother. Now there were seven brothers. The first one
married a woman and died childless. The second and then the third married her,
and in the same way the seven died, leaving no children. Finally, the woman
died too. Now then, at the resurrection whose wife will she be, since the seven
were married to her?"
[LK 20:34-38] Jesus replied, "The people of this age marry and are given in marriage. But
those who are considered worthy of taking part in that age and in the
resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage, and
they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God's children,
since they are children of the resurrection. But in the account of the bush,
even Moses showed that the dead rise, for he calls the Lord 'the God of
Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.' He is not the God of the
dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive."
[LK 20:39,40] Some of the teachers of the law responded, "Well said,
teacher!" And no one dared to ask him any more questions.
[LK 20:41-43] Then Jesus
said to them, "How
is it that they say the Christ is the Son of David? David himself declares in
the Book of Psalms:
" `The Lord said to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand until I make your
enemies a footstool for your feet." '

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness
be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in
everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to
God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your
hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right,
whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is
excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things.

The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine upon you and be
gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.
