[DT 9:23] And when the LORD sent you out from
Kadesh Barnea, he said, "Go up and take possession of the land I have
given you." But you rebelled against the command of the LORD your God. You
did not
trust him or obey him.

Sermon's Scriptures: (NIV)
[DT 9:1-3] Hear, O Israel. You are now about to cross the Jordan to go in and
dispossess nations greater and stronger than you, with large cities that have
walls up to the sky. The people are strong and tall--Anakites! You know about
them and have heard it said: "Who can stand up against the Anakites?"
But be assured today that the LORD your God is the one who goes across ahead of
you like a devouring fire. He will destroy them; he will subdue them before
you. And you will drive them out and annihilate them quickly, as the LORD has
promised you.
[HEB 12:28,29] Therefore,
since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and
so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our "God is a
consuming fire."
[DT 9:4-6] After the LORD your God has driven them out before you, do not say
to yourself, "The LORD has brought me here to take possession of this land
because of my righteousness." No, it is on account of the wickedness of
these nations that the LORD is going to drive them out before you. It is not
because of your righteousness or your integrity that you are going in to take
possession of their land; but on account of the wickedness of these nations,
the LORD your God will drive them out before you, to accomplish what he swore
to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Understand, then, that it is not
because of your righteousness that the LORD your God is giving you this good
land to possess, for you are a stiff-necked people.
[DT 9:7] Remember this and never forget how you provoked the LORD your God to
anger in the desert. From the day you left Egypt until you arrived here, you
have been rebellious against the LORD.
[DT 9:23,24] And when the LORD sent you out from Kadesh Barnea, he said,
"Go up and take possession of the land I have given you." But you
rebelled against the command of the LORD your God. You did not trust him or
obey him. You have been rebellious against the LORD ever since I have known
you.
[TIT 3:3-7] At one
time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of
passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one
another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved
us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He
saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he
poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having
been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal
life.
[1JN 5:18-21] We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the one
who was born of God keeps him safe, and the evil one cannot harm him. We know
that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of
the evil one. We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us
understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is
true--even in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
Dear children, keep yourselves from idols.
[JUDE 1:20,21] But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy
faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in God's love as you wait
for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

Blessed are they whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the
LORD. Blessed are they who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart.
They do nothing wrong; they walk in his ways.
[Ps 119:4] You have laid down precepts that are to be fully obeyed.
[PS 119:5,6] Oh, that my ways were steadfast in obeying your decrees! Then I
would not be put to shame when I consider all your commands.
[PS 119:7,8] I will praise you with an upright heart as I learn your righteous

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again:
Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be
anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with
thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which
transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ
Jesus.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever
is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is
admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such
things.LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine upon you and
be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.
